omg u are all idiots, rats do not have spikes let alone quills and the flexibility and design of defense can only be found in the little species of a hedgehog so farfar get the knowlage to know the difference from a nasty creature that lives in sewers to a delicate spikey one

Okay, farfar and “nearnear”, how about a little science lesson?

Hedgehog = A hedgehog is any of the spiny mammals of the subfamily Erinaceinae and the order Erinaceomorpha. There are seventeen species of hedgehog in five genera, found through parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and New Zealand (by introduction). There are no hedgehogs native to Australia, and no living species native to the Americas. Hedgehogs share distant ancestry with shrews (order Soricidae), with gymnures possibly being the intermediate link, and have changed little over the last 15 million years.[2] Like many of the first mammals they have adapted to a nocturnal,[3] insectivorous way of life. Hedgehogs’ spiny protection resembles that of the unrelated rodent porcupines and monotreme echidnas.

*SPINY* Rat = The spiny rats are a group of hystricognath rodents in the family Echimyidae. They are distributed from central Central America through much of South America. They were also found in the West Indies until the 19th century. Some authorities consider the nutria from southern and central South America to be a part of this family.

    Hmmm, let’s see…

Hedgehogs come from the subfamily: Erinaceinae.
Spiny Rats come from the family: Echimyidae.
    Can you spell that word?
    Erinaceinae.ECHIMYIDae.
    Can you see the difference????
Well, go get your mummy to come help you.
Don’t believe it? GO BUY A DICTIONARY.

    End of discussion.

This is a long eared hedgehog native to Central Asia and some Middle Eastern countries. If you think you want one as a pet, look at them fully grown – they change quite a lot in appearance…

For everyone that has clearly been ill informed through educational institutions or simply by the internet; this is definitely not a spiky rat, however it does appear to resemble that of a spiny rat more than it does a hedgehog. I’ve been studying wildlife for several years now and can confirm that hedgehogs are blue and are normally seen in their habitat in Segamoto Japan. The hedgehog was first discovered in 1991 by Yuji Naka, to whom described the characteristics of the hedgehog to Naoto Ōshima in order to come up with a detailed sketch of the creature. You know that the spiny rat pictured above is not a hedgehog because it does not have blue spikes, red feet, and it is not with an orange flying two tailed fox. You people all need to get it together and just look at the facts.
